A Better Place

Posted on: 10 Sep 2010

Just recently my family and I moved to a bigger place.  Our old place was getting a bit cramped for the three of us and it was time for our toddler to have his own room.

We love the new place, not because it is spacious but because it has a better view, hardwood floors (a nice change from carpets) and lots of light flood the living room.  It is a more upscale place.  It is, quite simply, a better place.

Jesus spoke of a better place in John 14:2, 3.   “In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”  What makes this a better place is that Jesus Himself will be there.

Right now you may be in a better place than where you were before.  It could be that you have moved into a new home that better fits your needs.  It could be that you are in a better work environment.  Or it could be that your life is right where you want it to be.  Be content where you are now but keep in mind that Jesus has prepared a far better place for you and it is out of this world.
